Sorry for slacking on the blog tip, but you know how it is. I'm planning on getting a new digital camera real soon so I can start actually documenting events and things like that and make this blog a little more interesting. My old one weighs about 5lbs and puts an unwanted bulge in my pants. But I'm waiting a little bit to get my paper back up because Christmas just burned a hole in my pocket. Plus, I know everyone is tired of watching my stupid youtube mashups (plug).
Anyway, here's RVA's own Skillz' annual rap up. See kids, this is what happens when you stay on your grizzly and keep your ears to da streets. This video is kinda low budget, but supposedly the official video is airing when the ball drops on jan 1. I'll post a 2007 wrap up of our own as soon as i get a chance.
Thanks for tuning in,
BV!

Thanks things for making it all worth it.
P.s. We just got the Mash DVD and some of the apparel/ buttons and stuff in at Hospitality, I highly recommend a viewing.

Hellovon
A while back Serum Vs. Venom put out a lookbook and I remember thinking, "Damn those illustrations are dope." Newstoday recently linked his online portfolio and I won't lie about it, I kinda sweat his work. He's got a show in New York opening tonight, so if you're in the area, go peep it. If I'm not mistaken, he's down with the KDU.

Toobin'
Two weeks ago the generous gentlemen of Hospitality sponsored a free tubing event on the James River here in Richmond. Everyone met up at the store and took a bus over to the banks where from which we departed. The weather was beautiful and the ride lasted about 2 hours (the tubes were probably traveling about a mile an hour or slower). It was a nice chance to meet some new people and get out and enjoy a lazy afternoon out on the water. Thanks to shop guys James and Drew for setting up the event. Big up to The Hundreds and Red Bull for sponsoring too. Lets do it again soon.
more photos at Hospitality's Myspace AND Here (Thanks Jamey & Jess).

US Open
Is anyone else watching the Fabrice Santoro v James Blake match? It's some of the best tennis I've seen in recent memory. There's no telling how it's going to go and they're at deuce 3 with 4/4 in the 5Th set, not to mention that Santoro is seven years Blake's senior!
Addendum:
Congratulations go to James Blake who wins 3-2 in the 5Th set. Scores as follows 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 4-6 in a game that clocked in at 3 hours and 25 minutes. What a great game, you can see stats here:

You Should Buy This...
My Friend Ryan's band Bracewar just came out with their first Lp "Juggernaut" and it fucking rips. Fast and out of control it clocks in at about 14 minutes in 12 tracks. I know Plan 9 has some copies and I think you can get it through the Itunes store too. So go get a copy NOW!

Cranking Dat Souljah Boy
Move over SARS. Show's over AIDS. Your time's up. There's a new kid in town and his name is "Cranking Dat Souljah Boy*." A song and dance made popular by the Bape toting dirty south rapper known as, you guessed it, Souljah Boy. Symptoms of CDSB include, but are not limited to involuntary snapping, cranking up in dat hoe, supermanning dat hoe, supersoaking dat hoe, leaning, rocking, jockin off dem haterz, crankin dat robocop, and cocking on dem bitches. The epidemic seems to be sweeping the nation and infecting everyone from iced-out thugs to middle class adolescent white girls. Even Spongebob and Pooh couldn't escape the wrath. Who knows, you might be next.
*If you've 'been known' about this, I apologize. I'm usually late when it comes to this kind of thing anyway.
